A BIG “Thank You” to National Grid for supporting our project “Sunshine warmth melts winter blues” with a £10’000 grant…With this we was able to keep our Children/Young people warm this winter with official Oodies for all Children/Young people and families at Spectrum WASP, this has made a huge difference in being able to stay warm and also be able to turn the heating down alongside the warm home packs which included draught excluders, socks, bleed keys, radiator foil and wheat packs just to name but a few items…We feel this grant has made tremendous difference in the current cost of living crisis.

What a Fantastic way for us to start the New Year, .. The journey we have been on in the back ground since May 2021 when we first Applied for the National Lottery Community Fund, has been a roller coaster of emotions for us, so desperately dependent on our application going to panel,.. which it did 3 times, over the last 6 months, with 3 Applications, to 3 Panels, as we realised without Funding, we would not have survived the next 6 months, after 13 years of Spectrum/Wasp providing an invaluable service within our Local Community for our Children/Young People, Parents/Carers. TNLCF were ourstrength/hope as to where we needed to be ‘Moving Forward into the Future’, with numbers of Children and Young People rising fourfold, needing our service and support, throughout the last 2 years of the Covid Pandemic,.. then on November 25th 2021 we received the most ‘Amazing Telephone Call’ to say our Application had been Granted and we had been Awarded £331.069.00 over 3 years, giving us £110,356.33 per year to sustain Spectrum/Wasp, .. This was the ‘Best Lottery Win’ for our Children’s Charity that anyone could have Wished for, we were just so elated, excited, speechless (should I say) and in tears, to have this opportunity for our Children, Young People and Families of Spectrum WASP, in ‘MAKING a DIFFRENCE’ to start 2022…
